An asset is a useful or valuable person, thing or quality. If we value our organizational culture, it should be treated like an asset, and therefore considered a part of our Asset Management strategy. Most organizations forget this important piece when designing their reliability and maintenance programs where culture normally takes a backseat to process design, new technology, and engineering. No matter what tools are developed, processes created, or technologies purchased, culture will play a role in a firm’s success both in the short and long term. This is because an organization’s culture is the product of its beliefs, attitudes, values, goals, customs, and practices.
